Imagine your favorite singer-songwriter – with a violin and a better sense of humor. You’ve just described Deni Bonet. Not every classically-trained musician plays the violin like an air guitar! Deni Bonet is a college radio favorite who's performed with the likes of Cyndi Lauper, R.E.M., Sarah McLachlan & Robyn Hitchcock and fits her string & vocal skills into ironic, catchy alternative pop. Her latest obsession is with the ukulele which has brought her an endorsement with Kala Ukuleles, and a recent headlining spot at the NY Ukulele Festival! Deni has just finished recording a new CD with her band and producer Richard Barone (of the Bongos), and features some truly remarkable musicians including Fred Schneider of the B-52’s, Peter Buck and Scott McCaughey of R.E.M., and John Wesley Harding, and many other fantastic musicians. The CD, entitled "IT'S ALL GOOD" will be released in 2012, but is now available exclusively on this website.
"Deni Bonet has the informal, friendly, storytelling nature of a folksinger and the exciting looks and edgy musicality of a rock star. Her happy, party-ready songs are refreshingly punchy. And while she loves to have fun on stage, there are places in her show where she digs down deep and comes out with breathtaking violin solos worthy of the finest classical concert halls." - Sarah Craig, Executive Director, Caffe Lena, Saratoga Springs, NY |
